KARP Hosts Ambassador of Australia to the ROK for a Special Event

On Thursday 20 October, KARP hosted a hybrid Distinguished Speaker Lecture with Her Excellency Catherine Raper, Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea. Attendees watched the event in-person at the University of Melbourne's Sidney Myer Asia Building, home of the Asia Institute, and also online.
The event was moderated by project member Dr Peter K. Lee with welcoming remarks by Dr Andrew Rosser, Deputy Director of the Asia Institute at the University of Melbourne. Ambassador Raper’s lecture covered progress on the Australia-Korea relationship under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the role of people-to-people cooperation.
The Ambassador's lecture was followed by a wide-ranging Q&A session, which covered topics ranging from Korea's nuclear energy pivot, experiences of Korean working holidaymakers in Australia, to the personal relationship between Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his Korean counterpart President Yoon Suk-yeol.
The full lecture recording, with Q&A, is available to watch here.
